in this chapter we will know about the effectiveness and the efficiency of an Organization.


MEASURING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY'S SUCCESS

IT has become an important part of the organization's strategy, competitive advantage ana profitability.
IT now has to operate like other part of the organization, being aware of its performance and its contribution to the organization success and opportunities for improvement.
The first thing managers need to understand about IT success is that it is incredibly difficult to measure.


KPI's : KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

It is the measurement that are tied to business drivers.Metrics are the detailed measures that feed those KPI's.Performance metrics fall into a nebulous area of business intelligence that in neither technology or business-centered.But this is requires input from both IT and Business professionals to find Success.

EFFECTIVENESS IT METRIC
Measure the impact IT has on business processes and activities including customers satisfaction,conversion rates and self-through increases.

EFFICIENCY IT METRIC
Measure the performance of the IT system itself including throughput, speed, and availabilities


BENCHMARKING-BASED LINE METRIC
Benchmarking is the process of continuously measuring system results, comparing those results to optimal systems performance, and identifying steps and procedures to improve system performance.
There is a high degree of correlation between the government and efficiency and effectivenes, although it is not absolute.
